ElectricBrainRaves A blog reflecting my interests, from Neuroscience to Music...

Basically what it is, it is & what it ain't, it ain't

There are many, many, many reasons why I love the city I live in…Bristol!!
Not only has this city nurtured a passion inside me for Art, Music, Skateboarding and a culture thriving on it’s hunger for creativity; there is also a sense of real community here too!
This week is all about community and collaboration in Bristol. From today (Aug. 15th) right through to Aug. 21st, one of Bristol’s busy city centre streets plays host to what is going to be the biggest Street Art project in the UK & Europe!!
Nelson Street is giving up 10 of its dull, grey, multi-storeyed buildings to a bunch of renowned and talented Graffiti Artists…what a great idea!!
The project known as ‘See No Evil’ is coming together through 12 months of hard work and organisation from Bristol based Graffiti Artist Inkie & music promoters Team Love. The project is seeing a host of local artists taking their paint to Nelson Street and letting their creativity run wild!
Bristol Graffiti artists such as Sickboy, Inkie & Andy Council will be joined by others from the UK to paint the boring drab of ungraffed buildings in the centre (Smug is one to watch with his scarily real looking 3D animation pieces).
To make things even more exciting we are blessed with the presence of International Street Artists too, hailing all the way from Brazil to Holland. Ones to watch are L.A. based El Mac, whose incorporation of drawing people and faces into his artwork is simply outstanding, and the Tats Cru from the Bronx - N.Y.C. The Tats Cru are renowned for revolutionising the Graffiti scene and will be sure to bring some wonderful art to the streets of Bristol!
Bristol has one of the best Graffiti scenes in the world and it’s about time we followed cities like Melbourne, Australia…which already attracts many tourists due to it’s tolerance for beautiful Street Art, found displayed all across the city (read Street Art Uncut by Mathhew Lunn…It contains some awesome Melbourne Graff).
If you are in Bristol this week, or can get here with ease, then don’t miss out on this! There’s also a party on Saturday 20th hosting some local DJ talent with the likes of DJ Bunjy and DJ Skint…who are sure to keep your heads bouncing.
The picture here is a taster of what’s in store and it is now actually finished, ready to admire on Nelson Street. Get on down if you can make it, you’d be a fool not to! For more info visit the 'See No Evil' Website!!
I feel sorry for those that don’t live in Bristol…I bloody love this city :)
